Well it has been a month since I went on a vacation with my college friends. We visited Rishikesh an organised trip by Travelomaniac. It has been a hell of an experience. Not only did we make new friends but also enjoyed every bit of it. We started at around 9 in the evening and reached at around 7 in the morning the next day. The H.V.A.C bus seats were comfortable and spacious enough.
Rishikesh offers the best camping experience on the silvery sand beach of Shivpuri. Shivpuri is a tiny hamlet located about 16 km from Rishikesh. The aura of the mountains surrounding the camps is breath taking. We were offered accommodation at comfortable riverside camps. Food and beverages were served at the camps itself. At around 11 we went for river rafting (the thing rishikesh is famous for). The buoyant waves of river Ganges offers a rapturous delight to the adventure enthusiasts. One can have a jaw dropping river rafting experience. A group of 8 friends could sit in a raft and row their way through different swirls of Ganga. The freshness one feels when the cold holy water of Ganga hits one face is inexplicable. We also enjoyed body surfing, swimming and cliff jumping (35 feet). The best part of the ride was getting our photos clicked and videos made by the official accompanier using GoPro(a water resistant camera). After coming back from rafting we were offered snacks with drinks. The hospitality was extraordinary. Following this we played volleyball, danced to the perfect evening and later at night barbequed.
The next day we went for some sightseeing, like Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, various temples and shrines. There are various hotels and restaurants which offer a variety of delicious food. On the third day we went for trekking to the waterfalls, a dip I the waterfalls feels like we had no worries in life. We were so relieved and stress free then. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
